WTA - Josanne van Bennekom hoort op z'n minst thuis in het hoofdschema van de Future die deze week in het Zwitserse Lenzerheide wordt gespeeld. Dat heeft de Nederlandse tennisster tijdens de kwalificaties van dat evenement wel bewezen.
In de eerste ronde walste de Nederlandse met 6-0, 6-1 over Tsering Dowa uit Zwitserland heen. In de tweede fase van het plaatsingstoernooi had Darja Pribitkow geen schijn van kans tegen de Nederlandse, die op dit moment niet op de wereldranglijst staat: 6-2, 6-1. Dankzij een 6-0, 6-1 zege op Kristina Huba uit Hongarije in de derde en laatste schifting van de voorronde heeft Van Bennekom zich voor het hoofdtoernooi geplaatst.

Het hoofdschema van Lenzerheide kent diverse oranje tinten. Zo is Michelle Gerards als eerste geplaatst en doen ook Marlot Meddens en Bibiane Schoofs mee aan het hoofdtoernooi. Van Bennekom speelt tegen Sally Peers (Australi
